Moonlight over Southwold Harbour

The wonderful sheddy place that is Southwold harbour; black bitumen fishermens huts and the paraphanalia that goes with it all...love it

I was painting every day at the exhibition and this was sold just as it came off the easel!

Autumn in Sibford

It's the finale of my Big Exhibition here in Swalcliffe this weekend, so I'm having a party to celebrate. It's been great to see so many old friends and to make new ones.  In a few days the dog and I will board the ferry, cross the English Channel and make our return trip back to the centre of France.

In the Bluebell Wood

There are many beautiful Bluebell woods in this area of Oxfordshire, and woods in the UK really do matter globally for bluebells. Half of the world's population of English bluebells can be found on these shores.

Acacia View

My exhibition goes into it's second week now after a reasonably busy first week and quite a few sales, the small daily oil paintings are proving to be very popular, seeing them 'in the flesh' rather than on a computer monitor makes all the difference.

Exhibition and rain!

A little reminder that we experienced some lovely sunshine earlier this year, I painted this in a small orchard near to where I live in France, the blossom was just about in full bloom and I remember the sun was warm on the back of my neck. Today I'm putting up my new exhibition and as I look out of the window from Garden Cottage I can see the rain and gray sky again!, it'll be a busy day...

Another French inspired painting... it seems to have been raining all month both here and in France. I heard that the UK has just experienced the wettest April since records began, and I was going to be camping while running the exhibition!
