Woodland Walk. £200

The painting from the last demo with a few adjustments back at home. I've finally got around to using my new Pochade box, bought from Ben Haggett in America, it was handmade to order and is a work of art in itself, seems a shame to plaster paint all over it though.

Woodland Walk, oil, 8 x 10 inches £200

A place I have painted many times in the past and used it as the demo for this mornings oil painting class...with an hour or so finishing in the afternoon.

Camille. Similar portrait commissions accepted from £250

My ex neighbour in France has been overlooking the exhibition for the past couple of weeks and has attracted quite a bit of attention, he sat for two hours in the hot sun until 12noon when everything stops for lunch!

Sunday in Southwold Harbour. £395

I'm keeping myself occupied during this exhibition and for the past few days I've been working on this large watercolour of Southwold harbour, much too much detail and very fiddly but fun all the same and available to see at: Swalcliffe Village Hall until the 17th May from 11am to 6pm every day.

Ten Greenish Bottles

I found these old dusty bottles in a delapdated stone building in the Bordeaux countryside, fine vintages all of them no doubt! Sold yesterday at: Swalcliffe Village Hall

The Harbour, Honfleur. £480

As the first week of this exhibition draws to a close I can report a very good 7 days with a sales flourish yesterday of some semi abstract paintings. Today Sunday, is traditionally a busy day as for most Artweeks exhibitors as it's their final day. But I'm looking forward to a busy SECOND week with lots of visitors.

Another favourite place to paint is Honfleur on the Normany coast...

Exhibition open until the 17th May open from 11am to 6pm every day.

8 May 2015

The Malvern Hills. £200

I'm really enjoying this year's exhibition and chatting about the new abstract work, it's taken some people by surprise but in a good way! This is one of my favourite subjects - in the Malvern hills.

Exhibition open until the 17th May open from 11am to 6pm every day.

'The Malverns' 6 x 8 inches + frame.

Daisies on the Plot.

I can't hold an exhibition without at least one or two paintings of sheds, two sold yesterday and this is the last one in watercolour

Swalcliffe Village Hall May 2nd to 17th. Open from 11am to 6pm

5 May 2015

Wilderness Coast. Acrylic. £800

I've been experimenting with abstracts and playing with colour and textures, the paintings have been loosely structured around the landscape and more recently the shoreline viewed from above. This one is my favourite, I think the colours design and application of paint all work well together.
Wilderness Coast. Acrylic, 20 x 16 inches

On show at...
Swalcliffe Village Hall May 2nd to 17th. Open from 11am to 6pm
