Belle isle farm..

I'm finding it hard to get out with the paints these days but did manage to get these two little ones finished over the weekend. The collection of barns is where my studio is...the one in the middle with the blue roof...which occasionally leaks!

Really had a lot of fun painting this!  and works well with this fairly 'loose' treatment I recon.  It's from a photo from the road trip around Cornwall last year and I can't wait to go back again next year take less photos and do more painting.

Autumn beside the Thames

Autumn colour in the Ferris.

The Autumn colours this year seem more vibrant than usual and thankfully the heavy winds have yet to appear. This was painted at the very end of the day with the light disappearing fast behind me, no time therefore to hang around, I love that pressure!

Belle Isle Farm

So back to Garden Cottage now after a couple of weeks staying in a campervan on the farm where I have a studio. I managed to get plenty of work done including a very large commission (more later) and 9 plein air studies around the buildings, a little tractor driving and hay bale stacking occasionally and plenty of fresh air!

Another scorcher yesterday, I'm staying on a small dairy farm and didn't have to travel far to find this shady spot to spend the afternoon!
