One of the many red onions from this years vegetable harvest, I lifted them all and placed them on a table in the sun to dry out only to move them into the garage the next day out of the rain. This one I plucked and put in the studio to dry, I was as much interested in the crinkly stalk as I was the rich colour of the onion.

Beautiful, Nigel. I find onions excruciatingly difficult to paint. This reminds me of the painter you recommended for my blog, Emily Patrick.
ReplyDeleteVery fitting for fall, too.
I am impressed that you grow onions, then paint them so beautifully.
